Brand focus - Vango

When it comes to camping equipment, there are a number of leading brands that really set the standard. One of these is Vango, and that’s the brand we’re looking at in this post - whether you need a tent, rucksack, sleeping bags or a wide range of other camping equipment, you can be confident that you’re investing in a brand that consistently delivers on quality.

The story of Vango

Established in 1966, it’s fair to say that Vango has developed an incredibly strong track record over the 49 years, and with its heritage firmly rooted in Scotland they truly know about weather conditions ranging from glorious sunshine to torrential downpours. The research that went into the development of those early products is still just important today as it was back then - and if there’s one thing that Vango stands for, it’s innovation.

Its AirBeam range, for example, is leading the way when it comes to erecting tents using inflatable beams. This means that even products like the Vango Airbeam Exodus V 800 tent, designed for families, can be put up in a matter of minutes.

Going back to the early days, one its most famous products was the Vango Force Ten tent. Released in 1967, it quickly developed a reputation as one of the most durable tents on the market, and was famous for its bright orange colour.

This helped Vango cement its position as a firm favourite of outdoors enthusiasts, and it is now also a manufacturer of recommended kit items for The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award the Scout Association.

Some of our favourite Vango products

Vango Langley Tent

One of our favourite Vango products is the Vango Langley 400 Tent - a 4 man tent that is ideal for a wide range of camping trips. A fully sewn in groundsheet means it can be put together easily in 20 minutes, and the striking fabric colour will ensure that you don’t forget where your pitch is on a busy campsite!

Vango double sleeping bag

Another product we love is the Vango Tranquility Double Sleeping Bag (read more in our double sleeping bag buyers guide). It offers generous space for freedom of movement and high levels of comfort. With hanging loops at the foot of the bag, its incredibly easy to hang it up to air after use.

Vango rucksack

Our final favourite from the Vango range is the Duke of Edinburgh recommended Vango Sherpa Rucksack. An ergonomic hip belt and sternum strap delivers consistent comfort even on long hikes over rough terrain, and a detachable rain cover and emergency whistle offer valuable options even in the most adverse of weather conditions.

So there you have it - just a few reasons why we love Vango. Do you have any favourite Vango products?
