Some of these walks have been chosen, but they are relatively easy and should give you that much-needed fresh air to aid any blues, hopefully. 

We’ve included important information like the difficulty level and the length of the walk.

Llyn Gwynant – Snowdonia, Wales 

Difficulty: Moderate / Length: 4.0k

Llyn Gwynant, located in the Eryri National Park, is a circular route close to the small town of Beddgelert. This walk is child and dog friendly. However, there are parts which can be a little rocky. It is mostly a quiet walk, which is why it can be a great trek to boost the mood. Walk this route and take in all that nature has to offer. 

Mam Tor – Peak District, England 

Difficulty: Easy / Length: 3.8k

Now, there are a fair few routes to choose from when it comes to walking around or up the Mam Tor. But, for this example, let’s focus on the circular route. The circular route via the Broken Road is 3.8k long and takes approximately 1.5 hours to complete. There is roadside parking and it should be relatively easy for children to join in. Embrace the wonderful views Mam Tor boasts on this short walk. 

Storey Arms Pen y Fan – Brecon Beacons, Wales 

Difficulty: Easy / Length: 6.5k

The Storey Arms route at the glorious Pen y Fan is technically the easier route, however, it is longer than other easy walks. But we can’t recommend this walk enough! With breathtaking views from start to finish, this walk to suitable for children and gives a massive endorphin boost. Begin this walk at the Storey Arms Outdoor Centre, follow the signs, and enjoy. 

The Fairy Glen Circular – near Grealin, Scotland

Difficulty: Easy / Length: 1.9k

If you’re in Scotland and looking for a short walk to clear some headspace, the Fairy Glen Circular is an excellent little route. It only takes about half an hour to walk the whole route and is child-friendly if you’re planning on taking a kiddo with you! This route has been described as a great place for bird watching too. 

Ilkley Moor (The Peak of Ilkley Moor) – West Yorkshire, England

Difficulty: Moderate / Length: 11.5k

This is the longest route on our list—one for those who want to spend about three hours walking. The trek begins and ends in the same location, a circular from Ilkley Moor Care Park. If this route feels a little too long or daunting, there are lots of other routes you can enjoy at Ilkley Moor!
