For a recent trip to the infamous Snowdon, we tested out some of Sprayway’s kit for the Autumn Winter season – the Men’s Halt Jacket, being one of them. The jacket had to endure all sorts of weather on our 4 hour hike up Wales’ tallest mountain – so it would certainly be a great test to give an informed verdict.
The Halt jacket features a whole host of great features, with one of the stand out points being the breathable GORE-TEX rated outer shell.
The Sprayway Halt Jacket features:

·      Inso / Therm insulation 80g body & sleeves / 60g hood
·      Zipped internal map pocket

·      Two zipped storage pockets
·      Mesh / Taffeta combination lining
The wire peaked hood was particularly something that impressed me. The fit around my head was tailored and kept the heavy rain and hard wind-driven snow at bay throughout the walk.
Along with all the features to protect you from the elements, the Halt is also pleasantly comfortable thanks to the cosy lining which Sprayway have integrated into the jacket. I noticed the arms seemed to be slightly longer than any other jacket I have owned and this was the same case with the stomach/waist area, being wider. I found these details to be fantastic for layering – I felt comfortable at all times during the long day's hike and my movement wasn’t restricted at all.
Verdict
For the features and specification on offer, the Sprayway Halt Jacket for Men offers incredible value for money compared to similar jackets on the market. If you’re layering, the Halt will give you plenty of manoeuvrability and comfort throughout a hike. If you’re battling the elements (whether it’s wind, snow or rain) the Inso / Therm insulation insulation will keep you cosy, when layered correctly, a wired peaked hood will keep your head/face dry and the GORE-TEX shell will laugh in the face of rain.
